This is a decisive moment image by Henri Cartier- Bresson, I would describe this image as bleak and dim as there is no colour and is taken with a monotone effect. This picture is enticing as there is no picture after this and no one, but the photographer and the subject, know what happened after.     What is the surface like?    In this picture the surface is reflecting the man and his        surroundings, the surface is also unpredictable because as viewers  we have no idea how deep or shallow the water is or how cold the    temperature is.  How does the work make you feel? His work makes me curious to know what happens next and frustrated that i never will. Multiplicity The aim of this exercise was to have one picture with the same person occurring in the same picture. Before we started we were told to be careful as if the lighting dramatically it would show up along with making sure the background didn't change so I had to be careful with cars in the background.  I started out by taking four digital pictures of my classmate posing in different positions each time. Once I did that I used photoshop to edit them making them all the same for example the exposure as some were darker than others. On photoshop i also stacked the pictures and created a mask layer for each one, this allowed me to use the erase tool and remove one of the Alex's and by pressing 'command I' it  removed everything on that layer besides what i rubbed out, that left two Alex's i then continued doing this for each one until all the photos of him were on one picture.  

How I stared by standing at the end of a corridor and each picture i took i moved a little backwards, i used the carpet tiles to measure how far i was to move, along with the two girls which i made one take 3 steps every time and the other stand in at 4 different spots to form a square around her. once i got all the pictures i opened it up on photoshop using photo merge wich allowed me to edit any gaps out and speed up or slow down the speed. How Many over all i took 18 pictures to form this.

Lesson 1 Our first lesson in graphics was with Nicki Campbell. She taught  us about typography and how to use lines to help get the best results, there is a ascending line- where tall letters end. There was a descending line- where long letters would touch, and finally the X- height is the actual height of the letters. She then spoke to us about found typography and showed us the alphabet found in nature, we then had to go around our campus and find ABC's made in nature.

Tuesday 3rd October In this lesson we were experimenting with mark making and different textures. The first piece of markings we did was with oil based ink and we used different objects to make the marks such as forks, spatulas etc. We were then told to draw emotions without drawing anything too defined, we was given different types of materials to draw with such as a graphite pencil, charcoal, chalk etc. Then we we asked to draw textures whilst only using one shape throughout, we used straight lines, squares, circles and curved lines. After we then proceed to listening to different types of music and drew how they made us feel, there was three types of music the first piece was a slow piano tune, the second was an upbeat guitar melody, there was then a big juxtaposition in the finale piece which was a loud rock song. Media lesson 1 For the first lesson we were in one of the media rooms where we were split into groups, and was given a the script of a scene from the movie Cat in the Hat. We were told to record our voices whilst reading the script. Once we had the recording we exported it on to adobe audition where we edited it to how we wanted it and to fix any minor mistakes. We removed any pauses that were too long, and cut out a part that had a little laughter in. After we edited it we chose some background music that we thought would go well with the passage. We choose to have the theme song of the movie as the music but with no lyrics as it would clash with the other voices, so in the end we decided to have a karaoke version of a song from "The Jungle Book". To get this music we had to convert the song on "video converter" but the website wasn't letting us do it so we decided to just edit the voices themselves. Aperture  When you hit the shutter release button of your camera a hole opens up that allows your cameras image sensor to catch a glimpse of the scene around it. The aperture that you set impacts the size of that hole. The larger the hole the more light that gets in the smaller the hole the less light. Depth of Field is the amount of your shot that will be in focus. Large depth of field means that most of your image will be in focus whether it’s close to your camera or far away. For example: Larger apertures extend focal depth more of the subject appears in focus. Small or shallow depth of field means that only part of the image will be in focus and the rest will be fuzzy. You can see that the leaves are in focus but the background is blurred. Even the leaves which is only a little behind are blurred. This is a very shallow depth of field.
